Sessions and Fees
Sessions usually last 50 minutes and take place weekly on the same day and time (unless agreed otherwise). The fee for the session is £60, although there is a concessionary rate of £40 available for people on low income, students or the unwaged. Please, ask if you feel that this would apply to you. If you arrive late for the session you will have the remainder of the allocated slot.
Cancellations of more than 48 hours notice will be charged at £30.
Missed or cancelled sessions of less than 48 hours notice will be charged at the usual rate of £60.
Continued cancelled or missed sessions are open to review.
If a session has to be cancelled from my part I will aim to give you as much notice as possible and try to offer you an alternative time.
If you wish to end counselling you may do so at any time, but I would like to ask you for 1 week’s notice after the decision for us to have a proper ending, which is an important part of the counselling process.
Confidentiality and Records
The content of our sessions is confidential although there are a few exceptions when confidentiality might be breached. These are:
- If I think that you are at risk of harming yourself or others
- If I am required to do so by a UK court of law
- If maintaining confidentiality would break the law, eg. drug trafficking, terrorism, money laundering, etc.
I also have regular supervision which helps me to maintain a good working practice and I also take brief notes of our sessions to help me monitoring my work. I do not tape sessions and do not allow clients to tape sessions.
